See I told you

After a ten month hiatus, I thought hmm why don't I post something. Well, since December I have... gotten my permit, gone to San Francisco, made it  through Algebra with a passing grade, finished my first year of high school, gone to Canada, and started my sophomore year of high school.
So far my 10th grade year has been pretty good. I have the regular classes, and then my electives, which include: seminary, web design, apparel, and of course band. Geometry and (this may or not surprise you) Apparel are competing to be my hardest classes. Geometry at first I was like, oh this is easy, and then we hit the proofs. With Apparel it went downhill with the first stitch, I have had to unpick the same thing five times. I'll post a picture of the finished project later.

Catch up

Okay, I'm so new to this so don't murder me. I know I haven't posted since July so I thought that since we are just starting Christmas Break I should really catch up. So we left off in the middle of the summer, after that I had 4-H meetings, and the Trek, which was really awesome. When we came back we had fair which was really fun this year was the first year I got to work in our ward fair booth. Both Katelyn and my's projects did awesome.
School started the 29th, and I began the adventure of high-school. My first day of seminary I also had to play the piano. I started pep band, and went to all the home games of football. I also was hired at the Little Classroom Cafe which is a cool job. In October I got my braces off after two very long years. This year I missed our ward halloween party to go freeze at a football game.
In November, during Thanksgiving break we went down to Arizona, it was a long drive. I went to my first Black Friday Sales, and got nothing. The food was great, thanks Aunt Beth, and Aunt Shan. December started snowy and cold and now it looks like it won't be much of a white christmas, much to Katelyn's disapointment. We got out of school on Friday, and we will be out for 2 weeks. On monday I'm going in to the DMV to get my peremit to take Driver's Ed. Update on Monday. Anyway hope that this catches anyone you even reads this blog.

The Story of the Horrible Hike!!!

Okay maybe the title is a little bit of an exaggeration, but only a bit. A couple of days before the 4th my Uncle Blake invited us to come with them on a hike up to Independence Lakes. So 4th of July morning they came down and we headed up to the start of our wonderful hike. It was pretty nice weather starting out and it wasn't even that horrible yet, but then we hit the steep part and that is where the horrible part comes in. Half-way in we lost the trail and the dads had to go find it again. Then we had to climb through patches of half melted snow.  Finally, thank goodness we made it to the lake. We took a half hour break and then we headed back down. At the begging of the trek back down it was sprinkling and about a quarter of the way it started hailing and just pouring buckets of rain. But eventually we made it and tried to eat a lunch without getting it soaking wet. It was fun I guess, and it was cool to see it, because that's where my dad proposed to my mom. My mom thought it was funny that I kept saying if somebody dragged me up here to propose to me I would be very tempted to say no.

As Promised......our CAMPING TRIP!!!

So as you already know from the post above that my family and I attempted camping for one night. I'm here to tell you that we all survived. We actually had a lot of fun. Though the ride up took an hour and we were all cramed into my dad's pick-up( we took all the motorcycles.)So finally after the torturous one hour drive we made it to the campground. We all jumped out and kissed the ground(not really I praised it from afar.)We all then scarfed down a gourmet meal of steaks or hotdogs and watermelon. We even had mashed potatoes and amazing gravy(Thank you Jamie!)Meagan and I then hiked the half mile to the not so amazing bathroom. I absoulutely hate porta potties. They give me the willies. By the time we got back the rest of my family had all the hard work done of pitching the tent. We then got out the roasting sticks and made smores and roasted marshmellows. Clint made peach cobbler for those of us brave enough to try it. Just joking it was amazing. When we finished stuffing ourselves with marshmellow goo,I led the kids in some arousing girls camp dances like: The Banana Song & Lil Sally Walker or Bobby Walker for the guys. We probably drove our camping neighbors crazy. Us girls then all braved the bathroom once again but in the dark,it was frightning. The night was pretty uninteresting except for it being freezing and Garret waking up everyone saying "MOM help I'm stuck in my sleeping bag!"We woke up and had breakfast and then my dad and Clint decided to take Michael and I on a trail ride. Me attempting to do it on my 80. There were huge rocks all along the trail it was terrifying, not to mention I had michael behind me on the 4 wheeler. The dads after getting us safely through left to go check out another trail and see if they could take us on it later. meanwhile Michael, Meagan and I went on the trail a couple more times and then we took the two other girls. We only got to the two girls cause I slammed my foot into a huge rock while going at least 20 or 30 miles. We quickly cleaned up camp and finally My dad,Clint, Michael,Meagan, and I went on one last trail ride and then we all headed home. I fell asleep as soon as I hit my bed and slept till nine the next morning.(as you can see from above some of us didn't even make it home)
